ROI calculator

How much is contract risk costing you already?

Most businesses do one of two things: send every contract to a solicitor, or skip the review and hope. One is expensive in fees, the other in the clause nobody read. Set your split between the three and the arithmetic shows which pile is costing you most.

THE THREE OPTIONS
Skim it and hope RISK UNLIMITED
Free, instant, and you only catch what you happen to spot
Send it to a solicitor £300 TO £500
Thorough, three to five days, and it does not scale
Review every one MINUTES, EACH
Consistent, against your own positions, at a price that does not move per contract

Most teams do the first one and call it the second.

Nobody sends everything to a solicitor.

So the honest model has three piles: the ones you pay for, the ones you read yourself, and the ones that get signed anyway.

The genuinely hard ones. Everything else is handled on the review Vern produces.

We assume reading a Vern review and sending the redline takes fifteen minutes per contract, and that every contract gets reviewed rather than a third of them slipping through.

HOW THIS IS CALCULATED
· Each pile is your split of the annual volume: solicitor, in-house, and the remainder signed unread
· External fees = contracts in that pile × your solicitor cost
· Team time = in-house contracts × hours each × blended hourly cost
· With Vern, every contract is reviewed: fifteen minutes of your time each, plus your escalation rate going to a solicitor at the same fee
· The package figure is indicative and adjustable, not a quote. Yours is priced on volume, seats and surfaces
WHAT THE NUMBER LEAVES OUT
· The cost of the unread pile, which is the whole reason the third slider exists
· A rebate window or auto-renewal caught before signature rather than after
· Deals that close earlier because nobody is waiting three days for a review
· Second and later rounds, which cost half a credit rather than another full fee

If your split has most contracts going unread, the fee comparison understates the case badly. That pile is where the expensive clause lives.

Before you trust the number

A calculator is an argument, not evidence.

Every vendor's ROI tool is built to produce a large number, ours included. The inputs are yours, so the arithmetic is honest, but the assumption that we replace external counsel entirely is not one we would make for you.

The realistic version: we take the routine paper, your solicitor keeps the deals that deserve them, and the spend moves rather than disappearing.

A FAIRER TEST
Score a contract you have already negotiated

On the call we run an anonymised contract from your sector against positions we write live. You judge the output against what you know happened, which is worth more than any figure on this page.

Now get the number that actually matters.

Tell us your volume and shape, and the package price comes back in writing within two working days.
